Safeguarding
At Wednesfield High Academy, we take our moral and statutory responsibility for safeguarding students and promoting the welfare of all students as a priority. We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued.
We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that students receive effective advice, support and protection.

Social Worker In School (SWIS) |
Wednesfield High Specialist Engineering Academy is taking part in the Social Work in School programme with Cardiff University which places social workers in secondary schools with the aim of reducing referral rates to children’s social care and improving educational attainment. It is hoped that this will promote better inter-agency working between schools and the children’s social care system. We are very proud to be taking part in this initiative. As a school community, we are dedicated to providing as much help and support as possible to all of our young people and their families. Our social worker, Miss A Thorne, will be based within school and will be available to address any needs as they arise. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Academy and speak to a member of the Safeguarding Team. |
